Overview
QKDGate provides operational governance and assurance for satellite quantum key distribution (QKD) links. It implements a two-gate architecture that monitors channel conditions and makes policy-based decisions without modifying QKD protocols.
What QKDGate Does
| Capability | Description |
|---|---|
| Real-time Monitoring | Continuous telemetry analysis during satellite passes |
| Policy Enforcement | Threshold-based go/no-go decisions |
| Audit Trail | Tamper-evident logging of all decisions |
| Operational Veto | Halt transmission when conditions degrade |
What QKDGate Does Not Do
| Out of Scope | Rationale |
|---|---|
| Key Generation | Handled by QKD hardware layer |
| Key Custody | Managed by key management systems |
| Privacy Amplification | Performed by protocol stack |
| Cryptographic Proofs | QKDGate provides operational assurance, not formal verification |
Important: QKDGate provides operational governance and assurance. It does not perform key generation, custody, or privacy amplification.
